When we spoke earlier last year to country singer Niko Moon, he teased us a bit with what was coming up in terms of a new album and tour, but what we didn’t realize at the time was that he was literally reforming the music industry and doing something no artist has done prior.

On January 19th Niko released his new album entitled BETTER DAYS, with the title track off the album called ‘Better Days’ as well. And with this title track, Niko announced something that has never been done before… “Just by listening to the song, you are saving lives!”

How you might ask?! It’s quite simple, Niko and his team are donating 100% of the streaming profits of the song back to the Happy Cowboy Foundation, a non-profit started by Niko and his wife Anna Moon and board members Jeff Jones, Melissa Reilly, John Huie, to help those going through mental health problems and addiction get the help they need at no-cost.

And with this news, fans have been excited. Not only for the song (and album, which also includes a massive track with singer Hardy), but to be able to actually do some good in this world without even having to give a dollar out of their own pocket, just a few minutes of their time listening to something they already are going to listen to. Niko has a QR code that launched for this give-back and put it on a billboard in downtown Nashville on release day.

With this feel-good strategy, Niko has reformed the industry and the results speak for themselves. His album is currently #1 on the iTunes Country Albums List across the USA, and his Better Days song is already charting on every playlist and chart there is in the country alongside other tracks from the new album.

And the giving back for Niko doesn’t just stop with the music. He is donating proceeds from his VIP Meet & Greets during his upcoming tour with Redferrin and Carly Waddell back to the foundation and selling merchandise that has gone viral for its kindness.

Niko himself has had a life marked by the harsh realities of addiction, and so seeing him turn his past into something that is changing and saving people today, is just incredible to see.

“The average person has 6,200 thoughts a day and 80% of them are negative. This is an epidemic of negative self talk that leads to anxiety, depression and a host of other struggles. Music is an amazing catalyst that can turn the 80% negative into positive, which helps our mental health, motivation and overall passion for life. The Happy Cowboy Foundation is going to save lots of lives and help a lot of people”
