A man had peculiar reaction to sanitizer, looked similar to hangover

According to the reports in the media, a man started feeling uneasy, nauseated and flushed when he entered inside the vicinity of the bank and applied the hand sanitizer, as a precautionary measure against novel coronavirus. It is termed as a peculiar reaction to hand-sanitizer which almost made him feel like that of a very bad hangover. 

Apparently, the 43-year-old man had redness on his face and chest when he was taken to the emergency room. Also, according to reports, he experienced a fast heartbeat or tachycardia. Tachycardia is said to be an abnormally fast heartbeat. Well, this possibly happened due to the man’s medication that he had been following for three years. According to recent developments, the man was under the medication of disulfiram- it is used to treat the patients with alcohol abuse that leads to hangover-like conditions- nausea, headache, and others. 

Well, medicine is used to retain people from consuming alcohol which could cause bad effect on their overall health. Meanwhile, people who consume disulfiram are advised to stay away from the products of alcohol because even a very small amount of alcohol can cause severe effects on the health of the person. There are certain products like kinds of vinegar, sauces, mouthwashes, and others that are advised by the consultants, physicians, or doctors to be avoided. Hand sanitizers are said to have 50-60% of alcohol and people taking the medicine are requested to avoid its usage, according to various reports. 

The man recovered within an hour and was advised to avoid the usage of hand sanitizer or avoid the medicine for a few days, citing the current situation where sanitizer poses to be the very essential item in everyone’s health-safety kit. He was as well released from the hospital after he completely recovered within an hour and even the sole author of the report said to post a consultation, “it was decided that because sanitizer use would be rampant, (the man who takes disulfiram) would cease disulfiram for the time being.”
