How One American Physician Has Reformed Lives With Just Being Herself

Dr. Selene Castrejohn, a dedicated philanthropist and accomplished physician, created her practice “Be You Medical” over ten years ago, however, unlike most in her field, she started her practice off as a non-profit with proceeds going to help fund plastic surgeries in third-world countries. Born to Mexican immigrant parents and inspired by her humble beginnings, these days, with many locations across California that provide many aesthetic/cosmetic procedures, Dr. Selene has launched her own CBD-based skincare and facial cream line, along with seeking out new ways to give-back always and reform Americans to feel & look their best.

Our expansion into third-world countries stems from a personal connection and a deep sense of empathy for those in need. From a young age, I have witnessed the challenges faced by underserved populations and have felt compelled to make a difference. Everyone deserves access to basic necessities, including healthcare, regardless of socioeconomic background. Through this lens, I see myself as a philanthropist, utilizing the resources at my disposal to alleviate suffering and improve lives, even on a modest scale.

3. As we head into the summer months, what aesthetic/cosmetic procedures are you seeing more of happening?

As we transition into the warmer season, there is a notable increase in aesthetic procedures that cater to clients seeking immediate results with minimal recovery periods. This trend can be primarily seen in the popularity of injectable treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers. The appeal of these treatments lies in their non-invasive nature and immediate results, allowing clients to return to their daily routines almost instantly. Botox is popular for its ability to smooth wrinkles and fine lines, giving the skin a more refreshed and youthful appearance. Similarly, fillers are sought after for their capacity to add volume and contour to areas such as the lips and cheeks. This misconception often stems from the confusion between CBD and THC, the latter of which is the psychoactive component found in marijuana.
