The rigid pavement post the pandemic
The pandemic has forced the American economy into an economic crisis. Over 10 million Americans have lost their jobs or have never had a career around the country. Fourteen million renters fail to pay their rent. As per stats 29 million adults and at least 8 million children might not even have food in the future. They persist in pervasive systemic racism and inequality in the American economy.
The pressure of this economic crisis is pushing communities of color and families underserved. Under recently ago, Biden unveiled a historic legislative package designed to change the pandemic course and get students back to school. He gives families and businesses a bridge to economic recovery to invest in advancing racial equity.
His plan came on the heels of December’s bipartisan deal to provide a down payment on long-term monetary relief for working families. Congress should finish the job by expeditiously passing the American Rescue Plan into law.
But the people cannot afford to wait for Congress to act. They need help, and they need it now.
Today, the President issues Executive Order to launch as an all-of-government effort to provide equitable emergency economic relief to working families, communities, and small businesses across the nation.
