Qatar Airways wants passengers to wear face shields

In a move to put a stop or reduce the spread of coronavirus cases in the world, Qatar Airways wouldn’t only require its passengers to wear masks but it will be appreciated if the passengers agree to wear face shields (as a matter of extra protection) as well.

Apparently, it was announced in a press release that passengers wouldn’t be required to carry their own masks, gloves, or even sanitizers as all of them including face shields will be distributed to them (the only thing required is passengers’ will towards wearing face shields). Also, everything will be for the use and throw purpose.

Akbar Al Baker, the chief executive of Qatar Airways group stated while addressing the media in a press conference, “Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, the safety of our passengers has been our highest priority. By introducing these additional onboard safety and hygiene measures, our customers can rely on us and our unparalleled expertise to fly them safely to their destination. As the largest international airline flying consistently throughout the pandemic, we have become one of the most experienced in safety and hygiene. We will continue to lead the industry in terms of the services offered to our passengers so that they can travel with confidence.”

However, Qatar Airlines is not the only airline which has put up strict measures to combat COVID-19, many other airlines have even debarred passengers who deny wearing masks during a flight. Also, few airports are considering installing special cameras as a precautionary measure. According to reports, the cameras are supposed to focus on those people who don’t wear masks at airports. The move has come after airports have encountered many people who fail to maintain social distancing.

Qatar Airlines have also suggested its employees and cabin crew to cover themselves with a complete disposable shield over their dresses.
