There is more than meets the eye or ear when it comes to American country superstar Niko Moon.

The story of Moon, renowned singer-songwriter who has helped countless other artists hit #1 on the charts, is neither neat nor pretty all the time, but it’s undeniably honest and raw, capturing the tumultuous journey from tumult to triumph. Known for his unique fusion of genres coupled with thought-provoking lyrics, Moon’s life trajectory has been significantly marked by the harsh realities of addiction. It’s a journey that has birthed an unexpected brilliance in his art and shaped him into the resilient individual we see today. His struggle and subsequent victory over addiction isn’t just his personal narrative – it’s a universal tale of human strength, providing invaluable lessons about hope, perseverance, and the transformative power of recovery. And through his own journey, Moon has always remained positive, with the mindset that his journey and music can not only bring happiness to others, but can also save lives.

In order to have full creative control over his journey forward alongside his wife and co-writer Anna Moon, Moon recently announced his split from his record label, and into an independent artist.

And with that control, Moon has just announced that he is releasing a brand new album, a new 2024 tour and launching in the new year a non-profit foundation to help those who may need an extra hand when it comes to fighting their own addictions.

We spoke to Moon one-on-one to learn more about all these exciting new happenings, and how “Better Days”, the name of his upcoming tour and new album (releasing January 19), is helping Americans and people around the globe to reform their own lives.

1. How do you believe music can reform a person’s life?

Music has this incredible ability to help us feel seen. When we feel understood, it gives us hope for the future. Lyrics and melody can be used as an amazing tool to bring encouragement and healing to life. It’s basically magic.

2. We have heard stories of how your music has saved people. How does it feel hearing back these messages from fans?

It gives my life a much deeper sense of meaning. To genuinely connect with people is the whole reason why I make music.

3. How important is having a positive mindset overall relate to one’s health?

The average person has 6,200 thoughts a day and 80% of them are negative. This is an epidemic of negative self talk that leads to anxiety, depression and a host of other struggles. Music is an amazing catalyst that can turn the 80% negative into positive, which helps our mental health, motivation and overall passion for life.

4. Describe to us the process behind writing a song and what goes into it all?

It all starts with the “idea” of the song, what it’s about. Then I grab my guitar and start strumming and humming, letting the music and melody go where it wants to until it feels like it’s on the same frequency as the “idea”. Last but not least come the lyrics. Every songwriter has their own way, this is mine.

5. With your new album on the way, what can fans expect to hear?

Encouragement. Modern life is full of stress but that doesn’t mean life has to be lived stressed out. This album is a celebration of positivity and life.

6. Giving back is at your core… Tell us about your soon-to-be-launched Happy Cowboy Foundation?

Quite simply, Happy Cowboy Foundation was created to raise awareness and funding to help people get therapy who are in need.

7. How do you make sure to make time for your wife and child while out touring and writing/recording?

A lot of FaceTime! Fortunately I have an amazing wife who is the most supportive partner and also happens to be my main co-writer! I’m so grateful that our one year old daughter gets to grow up in such a musical environment.

8. Beyond music, what things do you do weekly to empower yourself and motivate you forward?

I love learning! I’m always looking for something new to dig my hands into. Curiosity is something I’m always working on cultivating in my life.

9. Why are you proud to be American?

America is my home. I was born in Texas, raised in Georgia and currently living in Nashville, TN. I’m so lucky to get to travel every square inch of this beautiful and vast nation. For me, it’s the diversity that I love. The people, the places, the food, the music, there is so much about America to love.

10. What is your personal goal for 2024?
