With many high profile companies trying to figure out how to get through this pandemic, one thing that all businesses have in common and are in need of is a driving salesforce and/or a team of employees that are well-spirited, educated and motivated to help bring things forward.

It is with this mindset that Ali Mirza, the CEO of Rose Garden Consulting has been able to help various companies across the US in the sales industries evaluate their teams in order to not only get through the pandemic, but reach new levels of success in the future too.

With his form of consulting, Mirza and his team are not focused on “logical” “fact-Based” “data-Driven” solutions, but go into businesses and focus on how the people there make decisions, and are rooted in Behavioral Economics.

While his team helps reform the US based on Behavioral Economics, we sat down with Mirza to learn more.

1. Describe to us exactly what Rose Garden Consulting can do for companies?

Rose Garden supports organizations in scaling out their sales teams. Specifically by helping them build out a systematic structure and process for how their sales reps can better engage prospects. The goal is to have uniformity across the team, while increasing average deal value and close rate. We do this by building out playbooks and scripts, hiring processes, compensation structures, and instilling a winning sales culture.

2. You are a Canadian who has taken America by storm with your unique take on helping businesses and people. What are the main differences in terms of running a business here in America and where you are originally from?

In my experience, Americans are more growth oriented and less risk averse. The American Dream is built upon doing more for yourself, for your family, and for your community. That comes through building a bigger business. Our services go hand in hand with business owners that have this growth mindset.

3. Why do most businesses and sales teams fail in your experience?

There are three reasons why: Poor strategy, zero accountability, and complacency, which all lead to mediocrity.

4. How do you decide these days if you are going to work with a client or not?

The number one determining factor of whether or not we work with a client is strictly based upon if they are a growth minded decision maker. While that may sound simple enough, we have run into many CEOs that have felt the need to ask their team if it’s okay to run in a particular direction first, and that’s a red flag for us. If you, as the CEO, cannot make a decision for your organization, that shows us you are indecisive, and indecisiveness is weakness.

5. What advice would you give to people who are trying to survive during the pandemic with their companies?

The pandemic has been hard on almost everybody. But the key difference between organizations who survived it versus the ones that didn’t was their ability to pivot. Find the opportunities that are in front of you and be sure to seize them. Right now there are more opportunities than ever before.

6. Where do you see the future of Rose Garden Consulting heading?

We are going to become more and more selective with the clients that we work with. As we are beginning to take a larger interest in the organizations we support, our processes and principles are becoming more and more refined by the day, and are having a bigger impact. Therefore, we want to be very careful in the clients that we select because a long term relationship with our efforts is conducive for both parties but only if we are aligned in our growth goals.

7. How are you and your team reforming America?

By working with one business at a time, and helping them grow, we are helping them give back to their community, and that’s the cycle of change we want to see.

8. If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

If I could change one thing in the world, it would be letting business owners know that holding their teams to a higher standard is their responsibility. Not only should they do it, they should do so without feeling guilty.
