Tyler Perry to care for Rayshard Brooks’ Funeral, and Children’s education

Emmitt Perry Junior also is known as Tyler Perry plans to pay for Rayshard Brooks’ funeral. He further indicates interest in taking care of the college education of Brooks’ four children.

The 27-year-old black man Brooks was shot and killed on Friday, June 12, 2020.

This was after an encounter with the police in a Wendy’s parking lot in Atlanta, Ga. Rayshard Brooks’ death has been ruled to be a homicide.

Brooks suffered two gunshot wounds to his back and died of organ injuries and blood loss.

Perry has, however, offered to pay for Brooks’ funeral and the college educations of his children: Blessing, 8, Memory, 2, Dream 1, and stepson Mekai, 13.

As a philanthropist, Perry wanted to do something to help the family. He genuinely sends his heartfelt wishes to the family during this tragic time.

Brooks’ death comes during a period of civil unrest in America. Demonstrations have risen across the nation and world opposing police brutality against black people.

National focus and protests on the Black Lives Matter movement were driven largely by George Floyd’s May 25^th death while in the custody of the Minneapolis police.

This was after officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes.

Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that Atlanta police chief Erika Shields resigned from her post within hours of the incident.

Brooks’ death incited angry demonstrations in the city. The protesters set fire to Wendy’s restaurant where Brooks was killed and shut down an interstate highway in both directions. A total of 36 persons were arrested by the police.

Sources say that Officer Garett Rolfe has been fired following the fatal shooting of Brooks and a second officer has been placed on administrative duty.e
