Technology
Surveillance Camera- a Danger to the Society.

Trust, they say, is a crucial factor in every relationship. In a country where the citizens and law enforcement agencies are always at war, how does this country progress? Technology today is being used by all, especially the authorities and the people. But what if this technology like surveillance camera is misused, how then do we define trust in this political system?
Paul Mozur is an expert who has written lengthily on the Chinese state machine. He speaks of the mistrust of the authorities in Hong Kong. This was reflected in constant digital surveillance and paranoia. This was during the pro-democracy demonstrations that started a year ago and continues to break out.
Mozur believes that the Americans now engrossed by their protest should use the case of Hong Kong, and learn from it. He said that the Hong Kong protesters were continually trying to avoid being tracked by law enforcement. Thus, they avoided using subways and flashed laser pointers at a security surveillance camera. The protesters were afraid of their government using technology to watch them.
The demonstrators created channels on the telegram app to recognize hostile police officers and also employed a method known as doxing. They openly posted information about officers and their relatives. This resulted in the police taking off their identification badge.
Technology, a tool supposed to be used for the good of the country, became a tool for surveillance war between citizens and authorities. However, the protesters were outmatched.
The U.S. protesters who once favored the government are now afraid. If they are to behave like the Hong Kong protesters, it merely goes to show that they have lost trust in the legal system. Although keeping people safe justifies surveillance, Hong Kong made it clear that a level of privacy is necessary.
