Amidst the outbreak and protests in the world following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, US President Donald Trump has reconsidered something which seemed distant before, checking his earlier opposition to people who kneel during the National Anthem.

Trump on Wednesday said that Colin Kaepernick should be given a chance to take part in the National Football League. While clarifying his statement, Trump said, “If he deserves it, he should. If he has the playing ability. His playing wasn’t up to snuff.”

Well, Kaepernick has been banned for at least 3 years after he protested kneeling during the National Anthem.

Apparently, Trump’s statement comes after the statement of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson was released. Ben is the only black member of his cabinet and he urged him to reconsider his disagreement towards the people who kneel during the National Anthem and said, “ Well, I don’t think he has manifested as much animosity in that region lately. And I think we just continue to work with him. He’ll get there.”

Also, Trump’s had been too aggressive on people kneeling as it can be interpreted through his addresses where he called those people “sons of bitches.”

In the recent past, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has also encouraged teams to sign Kaepernick by saying, “Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it’s going to take a team to make that decision. But I welcome that, support a club making that decision and encourage them to do that.”

Apparently, standing firm on his statements, Trump had made a tweet on June 7 regarding kneeling and claimed it to be disrespectful against the country. Though the move by Trump has opened the door for Kaepernick, there are many players who deserve a second chance of reconsideration.
