Colin Wayne & Redline Steel Have Innovated the Booming Steel Home Decor Industry

From chic to modern minimalist, the home decor styles in America are extremely varied. Home decor – and customized items at that – are one of the surest ways for people to change the overall look and feel of a certain space.

With the rise in population, construction and home sales across America, the home decor market has seen an increase year after year; And it’s not just homes, it’s offices and places of business such as restaurants too that have jumped into purchasing decor items.

According to recent American home decor analysts, they forecast that the overall North American home decor market is set to reach nearly USD 11.55 billion by 2024, growing at a CAGR of 8.5% over the forecast period (2017-2025).

Enter into the equation US Army Veteran Colin Wayne and his booming company Redline Steel, who have been a-top the customized steel sector in the home decor space for years now. Through high quality, 100% made in America products and other strategies, Wayne and his company have seen incredible profits come within the industry.

We spoke to Wayne about his company, the machines he uses, how he has pioneered certain aspects, and what’s to come for the rest of 2020…

1. Why did you decide to start Redline Steel?

I saw a market opportunity back in 2015 that was a complete blue ocean market. Meaning endless potential of uncharted territories. There were zero companies spending money through Google on paid search so that was the primary decision knowing the market opportunity at hand despite the fact that I had zero experience in Manufacturing or Fabrication prior to starting Redline Steel.

2. What sets your company apart from others?

We are the largest customizable steel manufacturer in the United States so a massive offset between our brand and anyone else’s is consumer trust. We have over 230,000 Verified Customer Reviews and have shipped over 4 Million products within the last 4 years.

3. What types of machinery / lasers / processing system does Redline Steel use?

We use 4KW Fully Automated Linear Lasers, and a fully automated Infrared Powder Coat system with 8 robotic Gima Arms with a capture/reclaim system that saves powder coat waste which inadvertently will pay for the cost of that equipment within 32 months (estimated).

4. What do you feel you’ve personally done to innovate the customized steel industry?

Innovation at scale is challenging because you are doing something that nobody else has done. In regards to innovation, I would say that we have pioneered a new way of prospecting new customers through philanthropic giving of products, and partnering with large Non-Profits while donating 100% of the proceeds back to those organizations.

5. How important is customer satisfaction to you?

It’s extremely important to have customer satisfaction especially in this day with social media being a make or break for businesses on reviews and testimonials (Both good and bad) Furthermore for me I like to always operate from a place of integrity so if a customer isn’t satisfied I like to address the primary concerns with my staff and see if there is a root cause for corrective measures to avoid those same problems in the future.

6. Unlike other companies, you are all about giving back. Why is this so important to you as a business owner?

There are multiple reasons why I love giving back unlike most organizations and I think most importantly it just genuinely feels amazing. I have always been a humanitarian so it’s amazing to have a large business to be able to do what we can and donate millions annually as a 4-year-old business.

7. Why is it important that you are 100% “Made In America”?

Being a Veteran and proud patriot I think it’s critical that we keep manufacturing alive in America and that starts with businesses with great values to scale and maintain that same vision

8. What trends overall in the steel industry do you see coming?

Year over year the Steel Home Decor industry is becoming more and more saturated with smaller mom and pop shops that are trying to earn a market share. I encourage entrepreneurship and I don’t personally look at anyone as a direct competitor.

9. What new products are you working on for 2020?

We are excited to announce our new Mystery Gift Subscription platform launching in July 2020 where consumers every month will receive a NEW Mystery product delivered to their door at 50% OFF MSRP starting as low as $20 per month.
