While denying his move to resign after serving his 20 years career, the head of the department’s civil division said that he would be leaving in the upcoming months. According to the sources, Joseph H Hunt’s office had filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump’s national security advisor John R Bolton regarding his upcoming publication of the book, and the official is said to have signed on to the lawsuit.

Well, this is the third resignation that has come forth from his department in a week’s time and the official has stayed away from commenting on his move to step down. Also, the department’s spokeswoman denied commenting on his departure at such short notice.

Hunt was chief of staff at former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and he has also worked as a lawyer in some private firms. Also, he has been serving the department for a long time now and his move to resign was as new as coronavirus to the whole world.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, reports of stepping down of the head of the criminal division and the solicitor general were also surfacing on the internet and it was also reported by various media outlets.

Addressing his staff on the news through an email, he said that he will be resigning on July 3rd of this year and claimed that it was a great time working with the whole team and said that he was astonished to work with such capable and talented people. In his letter, he wrote, “I have the utmost respect and admiration for you because I have personally witnessed the manner in which you have carried out your responsibilities.”

He had joined the department back in 1999 and with a reminiscence of the memories and proud of serving the department, he would sign off on July 3rd, 2020.
